It’s a dilemma we’ve all faced: Something is stuck in the water and we sure as heck don’t want to get wet trying to get it back.
This is the problem faced by a Labrador Retriever when he discovered his treasured tennis ball floating in the family’s swimming pool.
Although Labs are a water-loving breed, this pooch had no interest in getting wet, so he devised a savvy plan to get that ball.
You can see in the video how he immediately takes action and finds a floating surfboard near the edge of the pool. He hangs ten and then twenty as all four paws balance the agile athlete on the surfboard.
Will he fall in? Can he reach the ball without toppling off the board? This smart dog can certainly handle himself in unsteady situations. Like a champ!
Once he gets close enough, he scoops the ball up in his mouth, then manages to get himself back to the side of the pool.
