There are lots of advantages to making your own dog treats. It’s an inexpensive way to keep your furry friends happy and you know that there aren’t any chemicals or artificial flavors in them.

Here are 10 of our favorite DIY dog treat recipes.

Carrot Cake Cupcakes

Your furry friends can enjoy carrot cake too! To make these cupcakes, combine 2 cups of shredded carrots, 3 eggs, 1/2 cup of unsweetened applesauce, 2 tsp of cinnamon, 1/2 cup of rolled oats and 3 cups of whole wheat flour.

Spoon the mixture into a greased muffin tin and bake for 25 minutes at 350 degrees. You can even add some cream cheese frosting. Find the recipe here.

  1. I’ve made my own for years for my boys. I use natural and organic ingredients, even the bacon and stuff I buy right off the farm up the road so it hasn’t been processed or added to in any way.

  2. This shows ‘blocked’ not safe to open for the recipes.. disappointed.. my computer will not allow for security reasons.. can you post the recipes separately for us?
