Have you ever heard of the term ‘pre-departure cues'? It's what your dogs pick up on (e.g. your every movement.. lol) prior to your leaving.

For example, if you grab your car keys, or your coat and hat, and make your way to the door, your dog gets anxious right away.

Well, this is exactly what's happening with this Boxer. Whenever dad grabs his “walking” shoes, Brock the Boxer dog expects dad to ask him to go for a walk.

What happens if dad ignores Brock after he puts on his “walking” shoes?

    I have had two boxers in my life- one as a child for 14 years and one when I was a young adult for another 14 years! They are loving and quite hilarious!! Great memories of Ginger and Caesar!

    When we grab our camper keys, our boxer is at the door!!! If we grab any other keys, she doesn’t care. She knows she gets to go with when the camper keys start to jingle, not sure how she knows the difference.

    This is typical Boxer intelligence.My Brandi drives me absolutely nuts when she knows it’s time to do something that happens every day at the same time.If she can see you do something that is going to include her,she is on me like fleas on a dog.These dog’s lives operate by human involvement with their owners,that’s what makes them so absolutely lovable.A house is not a home unless you share it with a Boxer.

    David – have had various breeds of dogs and mutts throughout my life, NONE can compare to my Boxers for their loyalty, their compassion, and their silliness which I love….my Boxer boy is the sunshine of my life…
