Copycat Cockatoo Acts Just Like The Rest Of The Guard Dogs When Visitors Arrive

When Frances Kent adopted a cockatoo named Peanut 19 years ago, she didn’t realize just how quickly the tiny bird would assimilate and fit in with the entire family.

Not only did Peanut get along with her human siblings but the dogs, too, became fast friends. Apparently, they also became teachers (of sorts) for the little bird!

The highly intelligent bird began copying what the dogs did early on in his life. From running to the front gate, playing, and even barking!

When the pack of dogs go to the gate to ward off intruders, the cockatoo hops along with them! The tiny bird even puffs out his chest and flips up his head crest, making himself look more intimidating to those passing by the property.

Peanut plays the part of “guard dog” so well, his bark blends in with those from the rest of the pack!

The smart bird definitely rules the roost, too. Whenever the dogs act up, Peanut is sure to put them in their place. The cockatoo’s antics don’t stop there, though! He loves to play with his human family, watch TV, and chirp and chat with visitors.

Peanut has become more than just a pet to the Frances — he is part of the family (and a hilarious one at that)!
