20 Things All Rottweiler Owners Must Never Forget

The AKC Standard describes the Rottweiler as “a calm, confident, and courageous dog with a self-assured aloofness that does not lend itself to immediate and indiscriminate friendships.”

It’s been often said that dogs are the only creatures on earth that love you more than they love themselves. Well, Rottweilers are no exception!

But sometimes, we take our furry friends and wonderful companions for granted. There are important life lessons that are sometimes easy to forget in our hectic lives, that all Rottweiler owners must never forget.

If we want to pay back the favor and give them the best life possible, these 20 important reminders should serve you well as awesome Rottweiler owners. The last one (#20) brought me to tears…

  1. How could you not always do these 20 things – my beautiful 10yr old boy is part of our family. We love, spoil, talk, treat, cuddle, care, play with, and enjoy what he brings to our family every day. I dread the day when he will no longer be with us everyday, but know he will never be far from our hearts.

  2. Love this, but it pertains to all dogs, no matter the breed. My Sammy (in the picture) past May, 2015. I still miss him so very much, too. Of all the dogs I have owned, Rotties hold a special place in my heart.

  3. laid my baby to rest december 19…almost exactly one month shy of her 10th birthday (1/20). stayed with her all the way to end and buried her in the backyard.$#%&!@*i love that dog. RIP Fujiko Penelope. Jenn Moon

  4. I lost “Clyde” and so so glad I spent all the time I did with him and did all 20 of the things listed above! He was amazing and just such a joy – I miss him as much today as I did the day I had to say Good Bye! Love ya Buddy!

  5. I had rotts for many years,it was hard when each one passed, sometime i wonder if i can do it again, sometimes i cant wait,im hoping one day to find a nice one that is fairly young and the owner would be looking for a great home than money, the dog would be a spoiled house dog and go on walks in the park and in the lake if it likes water
