20 Things All Labrador Owners Must Never Forget

One of the best dogs for children of all ages, Labrador Retrievers are kindly, good-natured, and take most things in stride.

Most Labrador Retrievers are very friendly with everyone, though compared to Golden Retrievers, many Labs are just a bit more conservative with their affections.

It’s been often said that dogs are the only creatures on earth that love you more than they love themselves. Well, Labrador Retrievers are no exception!

  1. sigh ours was almost one-we all went to training yes a child-part Lab part Shepard grew big and strong but hated the cat that would prowl our yard.He fought his way out from our vehicle one night after a regular ride-chased it across the road-dark car going too fast-still hurts but I stayed up all day and part of a night hardly sleeping before he was to go i was upstairs resting and I heard him slipping on the floor trying to get to me- I came down because I knew-he tried to talk- I called my husband and we both held him-after the xrays showed nothing sigh same cat same car that ran earlier that day-that lab love tho-we have 2 more sweeties now!

  2. I was right with my wonderful boy when he went over the rainbow bridge. I was right down on the floor with my arms around him and he went to sleep. He had a wonderful life. His own couch, went with us most of the time had a little bit of tid bits once in a while. We adored him and he knew it but he was only 10 years old and we figured we would have them in little longer but it wasn’t to be

  3. These dogs can do so much this is the breed that are mostly used to become guide dogs or for me an assistance dog. Mine is a black golden retriever x lab she picks things up like keys walking stick and phone. She gets washing out the machine. She loves new places we do talks and fundraising my way of saying thank you. My dog has changed my love. She understands body language and when I ask her to pull socks off I lift my legs up and she will pull them right off. If I’m having a bad day she comes and sits with she gives the best cuddles. She will start to retire from age 9 fully retire 11yrs. I have had her nearly 3 years now she’s 4 years old.
