Everybody's friend, the golden retriever is known for its devoted and obedient nature as a family companion.
The Golden Retriever's kindly expression says it all. This is one of the finest family dogs in the world: cheerful, demonstrative, trustworthy with everyone, and forgiving of any mistakes made by inexperienced owners.
It’s been often said that dogs are the only creatures on earth that love you more than they love themselves. Well, Golden Retrievers are no exception!
But sometimes, we take our furry friends and wonderful companions for granted. There are important life lessons that are sometimes easy to forget in our hectic lives, that all Golden Retriever owners must never forget.
If we want to pay back the favor and give them the best life possible, these 20 important reminders should serve you well as awesome Golden Retriever owners. The last one (#20) brought me to tears…
Check out the 20 Things All Golden Retriever Owners Must Never Forget on the next page:

Yep! My Golden is as close to my heart as was my Shepherd. Also my little old man I lost recently. Buddy was a Heinz 57 but the best little guy ever. I held him till he drew his last breath.

When my first Golden got to the point where he wasn’t eating, I had little choice but to have him put to sleep. 🙁 He was 18 years old and suffering from hemangiosarcoma. 🙁 I even hand feed him baby food till where he just wouldn’t eat. They simply could not help him. I will never forget him looking at me and that last look as if to say, “Thank you.”

This is my golden Hobie. She is named after my grandfather who not showed me a love for this wonderful breed, but reminded so much of one himself. Kind and gentle. Our Hobie was missing and we were reunited today. Can’t tell you how much I miss my pap, but somehow I still have a part of him.

In about nine days it will be one year since we lost our Shelby after a 20 month bout with cancer…how good a golden was she? When she woke up from radiation, she would go around and check on the other dogs and leg hug the technicians….try receiving that information without crying….

I lost my 11 yr. Golden back in 2013. She died in my arms during a seizure. No time to take her for help. She went fast and forever left paw prints all over my heart.

Just came across the replies about my two goldens. Bud past away by a seizure at 17years old and Max two weeks later was euthanized as he was in Kidney failure. He passed in my arms and to this day when he passed I could feel his soul go threw my body. People might think i’m crazy bu that feeling I will never forget. I still miss them after four years.
