With handsome good looks, the German Shepherd was an original canine movie star before the breed became popular police and military dogs.
One of the most capable and trainable breeds in all of dogdom, exceedingly eager to learn and work, a German Shepherd, when well-trained by a confident owner, is a magnificent companion.
It’s been often said that dogs are the only creatures on earth that love you more than they love themselves. Well, German Shepherds are no exception!
But sometimes, we take our furry friends and wonderful companions for granted. There are important life lessons that are sometimes easy to forget in our hectic lives, that all German Shepherd owners must never forget.
If we want to pay back the favor and give them the best life possible, these 20 important reminders should serve you well as awesome German Shepherd owners. The last one (#20) brought me to tears…
Check out the 20 Things All German Shepherd Owners Must Never Forget on the next page:

I will ALWAYS hold a place in my heart for German Shepherd’s. My Schatzie went to doggie heaven years ago, but he was just the greatest dog ever. I’m too old now to have another one, but love looking at their beautiful pictures.

oh it’s ok..no worries on the 20th point. there is a saying that best done while alive than when they are gone. Also, the mr.gsd is going to a better place.

Agree it applies to all dogs, but a GSD’s loyalty is beyond reproach. Look up loyalty in the dictionary. It says “see German Shepard”.

Our Sydney does that as well Greg. He sits in the garden for hours just looking over the fence at the mountains and watching the birds fly by.

I have loved german shepherds my whole life. I grew up with real german shepherds and bonded with ours when I was a child. not the sloped hipped American show ones. Real shepherds have a straight back and live longer healthier lives!
