20 Things All Dachshund Owners Must Never Forget

Curious, lively, charming, and brave, Dachshunds are similar to terriers in their demands to be in on everything.

The comical clowns love to play games and have a great sense of humor. They are loyal little dogs, very attached to their family, and they firmly believe that sleeping under the bedcovers is in the Dachshund Bill of Rights.

It’s been often said that dogs are the only creatures on earth that love you more than they love themselves. Well, Dachshunds are no exception!

But sometimes, we take our furry friends and wonderful companions for granted. There are important life lessons that are sometimes easy to forget in our hectic lives, that all Doxie owners must never forget.

If we want to pay back the favor and give them the best life possible, these 20 important reminders should serve you well as awesome Wiener dog owners. The last one (#20) brought me to tears…

  3. Yeah well you’re a morbid person… And my dog wasn’t left alone with a stranger, she was with an amazing woman that loved my dog and who has been a family-friendly for over 30yrs. You know there’s always one$#%&!@*that has to try to make you bad because their decision was different than yours. I was strong for 6 months watching my dog die from cancer, giving her meds every night, staying up with her all night the last three nights I had her so she wouldn’t be alone or scared. You my friend are not strong just because you stayed to watch your dog be put to death. I gave my dog the best care and the best life a dog could ever have. And now I care for my blind dog and my dog born with deformed front legs. So don’t speak to me about being strong. I feel sorry for you that you feel the need to shame me for doing what was right for my family and our situation. Buh bye now…

  4. Our three. Harley…with his back to the camera is 14. He’s blind, partially deaf, has liver issues and was on his last legs, when we brought in two rescue doxies. He has brightened up, loves their company and is healthy again. People are his life, but his friends are right up there.
