20 Things All Chihuahua Owners Must Never Forget

Chihuahuas… comical, entertaining, and loyal little dogs, absolutely brimming with personality – often a quirky and eccentric personality unmatched by any other breed.

Other than that generalization, Chihuahuas are extremely variable. You can find individuals who are lively or placid. Bold or timid. Feisty or mellow. Confident or nervous. Stubborn or eager to please.

It’s been often said that dogs are the only creatures on earth that love you more than they love themselves. Well, Chihuahuas are no exception!

  1. I was with both my babies as they past I held them in my arms and talked to them and told them how much I loved them and would always love them. I have there urns on my fireplace and every morning I hold each one and say good morning and each night I again hold them and say good night it’s been over 3 years since I lost my 2 boys but there is not a day that goes by that I don’t think of them and shed a few tears. I now have another chihuahua and she knows all about her brothers and how much I loved them and how much I love her and I will protect her

  2. So sorry for your loss. I have to agree with Kristy^. my sweet Shortcake is my fur baby through and through, she just turned 12 and she has Cushings Disease, and doesn’t always feel great, but she loved, kissed and hugged every single day!

  3. I couldn’t be in the room either I almost passed out. I never passed out in my life and never felt as if I was going to pass out until the day I had to put my chi down. I too felt like I let him down. Don’t feel that way, we didn’t let them down.

  4. My Chico pass away 1-16-2016 he was over 19 this was taking the day at the Vet he gave him a pain shot before the big shot he was deaf and blind but knew my touch after the pain shot he got in my arms the way he like for me to hold him and just went to sleep with out the big shot I’m was so glad to be there for him and miss him like crazy but he is pain free in his new home in heaven

  5. Awwww so sorry Jonni. My baby is gettin old too and the thought is crossing my mind I might have to seriously think of helping her along. I am having a very difficult time coming to terms with even the thought. She was given to me for company when my hubby past and the thought is not pleasant . The last one I don’t know if I can do it.

  6. i am so sorry for your loss i do know how you feel in my picture is my little boy buddy i love him so much .i cry every time i look at it loss him feb 22 this year he was 15 years old my little bed bug . i found him on side of road i so wish i had him back with me

  7. I said my final goodbye to my Little Bill (my Profile Pic) on Dec 15 and my heart has never recovered. I can’t believe how much of my heart he took with him that day we said good bye. I wonder, do all Chihuahua’s sneak into your hearts like that?

  8. I am so very sorry Barbara. I cry and it has been over a year now. I do the same with my Ja’bes pic. I do not think we ever get over our furbabies. They sure touch our hearts in so many ways when they are here. Sometimes they are our only company.
