20 Things All Chihuahua Owners Must Never Forget

Chihuahuas… comical, entertaining, and loyal little dogs, absolutely brimming with personality – often a quirky and eccentric personality unmatched by any other breed.

Other than that generalization, Chihuahuas are extremely variable. You can find individuals who are lively or placid. Bold or timid. Feisty or mellow. Confident or nervous. Stubborn or eager to please.

It’s been often said that dogs are the only creatures on earth that love you more than they love themselves. Well, Chihuahuas are no exception!

But sometimes, we take our furry friends and wonderful companions for granted. There are important life lessons that are sometimes easy to forget in our hectic lives, that all Chihuahua owners must never forget.

If we want to pay back the favor and give them the best life possible, these 20 important reminders should serve you well as awesome Chihuahua owners. The last one (#20) brought me to tears…

  1. “People are born so that they can learn how to live a good Life — like loving everybody all the time and being nice, right? Well, dogs already know how to do that, so they don’t have to stay as long.”

  2. Just beautiful…. it has been 5 years since I lost my long haired chi to old age and I’d give anything to have that time back…. A dog is for life not just Xmas!!!!

  3. Never left my Dog alone, in a Kennel for any length of time ( even more than 4 hours) she had a sitter. Of course when the time came after 18 1/2 years as a member of the family. I wasn’t going to leave her alone then. She knew she was loved right to the end.

  4. Aww I cried too! My Elvis is a stubborn butt he’s the king of my house he does what he wants and spoiled he only comes to me and listen to me he’s scared of strangers he’ll climb on my lap or scratch on my leg to pick him up. He’s priceless I was in the 3 months with kidney failure and a family friend has a 7 month little chihuahua in her arms and is a gift my sister secretly told our fiend I wanted one.

  5. He’s beautiful! So cute. Sad he passed! It’s a pain all dog lovers have been through and it hurts to your soul. Remember the funny times, the precious times and when he was so cute. Dogs have short lives, even 18 years is short because they pass away leaving only their footprints on your heart. Hugs!
