The Yorkie has a bold personality and seems unaware of its small size. They are devoted to their owners, and become very attached to their family and are not always ideal for the very elderly or small children with their lively and exuberant nature.

Full of energy, they can keep up with kids, but because of their small size, toy breeds like the Yorkie can be injured relatively easily by falls, other animals, or human clumsiness…

…so they need more supervision with the smaller children and are usually not recommended for this type of family.

  1. This is so true I have two yorkies 1 boy and I have his daugther shes 7 months on the 18 of july. She is active and her pop is getting old he s 7 but so sweet lets her take anything she wants even lets her eat first then he eats. But he adores her.

  2. Yes, these are all so true…I would come home every evening to my “Khloe” destroying the kleenex box….don’t know how many boxes we went through…lol. would have loved to have been a fly on the wall to see her pull out the kleenex like she was a mad child….love my yorkie, never a dull day
