As a responsible dog owner, it's critical to know what you can and can't feed your dog. Is it enough to just stick with a decent doggy diet?

Nope. There's a ton of foods you probably didn't know about that can actually be really bad for your dog, including some that are perfectly healthy for humans.

There's nothing worse than having your dog suffer over a simple mistake in diet. While they're still man's best friend, they probably shouldn't eat like your best friend.

    Luuci Luu has badic diet …kibble n chicken or carrots sometimes
    but she liked up some
    Choc cake crumbs n frosting the other day
    10 min later had anxioty …panting… restless ….
    gave her water ….took her out (night time) put her in her jogging stroller and pushed her around for 15 min…….she calmed down… …
    next time we have cake ..Ill make dure to clean my plate !!!

    The bottom line is you can give your Chi a little of everything as long as you don’t over do it!!! This is my 4th one so I think I know by now; JUST DO NOT OVER DO it; Simple..

    I just want to give my two cents in a different way. We all feed our dogs different things and they learn to adapt to what they like and what they don’t and I’m okay with that, but a valuable lesson I just learned about GSD that are Deep Chested, please be aware of a dog eating and drinking fast and often. Why! Then can get what my dog just went through……a twisted stomach and major surgery to repair. He is lucky to be alive. He had a stomach packed with dog food, rawhide, and grass. He couldn’t digest quick enough. He is also a stick fetcher that he had been chewing on too! Please take care of your doggies and love them to the very end, but take care of them to!

    My mom had a Chi that lived to be almost 20. He ate exclusively human food because he refused dog food. When he was about 10, he started eating canned food,finally,but still ate eggs meat,pasta,vegetables and milk. He drank milk several times a day,every day. He was never sick.

    Well,my mom would make sure Tiny had a variety of foods so his diet was balanced. The vet had her make him meatloaves with ground beef,eggs,Total cereal and peas and carrots. He also ate baby cereal with milk,loved spaghetti,etc. The only issue he had was bad teeth. They were pulled when he was 9. But bad teeth are common in toy breeds.

    Clearly a load of crap as Jasper has eaten bacon for nearly 10 years and he’s pretty healthy. . Dogs are scavengers by ancestory and they survived on scraps for centuries after man tamed him. . Granted I’m sure a few of these can be harmful to certain breeds ( usually the newfangled trendy breeds that people pay a fortune for ) .. but sturdy centuries old breeds can handle most foods. .xx

    Grapes are poison to dogs ….the seeds in them ….l know because l used to give them to one of my 5 dogs and my vet said no that they are very harmful …as apples go they are good for dogs but you must core the apple , the seeds are again very harmful…..
