While we often think of our dogs as family members, treating them as such at mealtimes can do more harm to them than merely spoiling them by spicing up their dinners. #12 – Bacon

What? Bacon?! Say it isn't so! It's absolutely tragic that we can't share one of the greatest foods out there with our canine buddies. We'll need to remember this the next time we want to feed our dogs some breakfast bacon under the table. Well, more bacon for us then. Sorry, buddy.

What's In It:

Foods rich in fat, like bacon, can lead to the disease pancreatitis in dogs. Once a dog has developed pancreatitis, their pancreas' become inflamed and stop functioning correctly.

What It Can Do:

This leads to all sorts of problems with digestion and nutrient absorption.

It should be noted that the amount of damage these foods can do vary on the specific breeds and sizes of your dogs. Like humans, all dogs are different and can react differently to foods. Though it's better to keep them away from these foods just for good measure.

So, what foods can you safely give to your beloved doggies besides the boring “dog food” you feed them everyday?

Luckily, dogs can eat a pretty wide variety of food, and there are plenty of foods that we can share with our dogs that are not only good for us, but good for our pooches, too.

    What a load of rubbish. My 4 bassets literally eat 10 of those foods fairly regularly, and they are all fine. Granted my big boy once at a 2.2 lbs block of cheese in one sitting. He farted cheese for 2 weeks. This is clickbait.

      You are so lucky to have 4 bassets. I used to have one, and when we picked her up from the breeder it was amazing to see this house full of bassets, as she had a few other adult bassets as well as the parents of the litter we were getting our girl from. The breeder was a really nice woman who gave my 3 year old a can of pringles, and it was hilarious to watch him walk around the place, calmly followed by a long line of bassets. None of them got any, poor things, not because of draconian food policies like those espoused by this list, but because a 3 year old who has his first very own can of Pringles is not gonna share….

    To save u time, the list is……
    Chocolate, Milk, Cheese, Yeast dough, Macadamia nuts, Caffeine, Bacon (fatty meats), Onion, Garlic, Avocados, Grapes, Apple cores (also plum, peach, pear, apricot cores)
    These cause anything from sickness to death!! BEWARE, please!!!

    Thanks I have been a Spaniel owner since i was about 7 years old Now 85 years old and I never knew most of that Bad Foods etc that you should not give to your Dog, but thanks to all your very Good Information, I am going to be Very Careful what I feed my Spaniel on in the Future—-Very Well Done Thanks !!
