  1. I had a full box of milk chocolate bars that my Bassett hound found. She ate about half a box and hid chocolate bars all over the house. She never got sick or even had the runs though she had gold foil in her poops for several days later. I was finding chocolate everywhere for weeks after.

  2. I already knew about chocolate.

I can see how apple cores, yeast dough, caffeine, and bacon can be on this list.

I was a little surprised by onions, macadamia nuts, garlic, grapes, and avocados.

But milk and especially cheese?! Seriously, I feed cheese to my dogs all the time and they don’t have health problems from that!

  3. My rottie once ate a whole head of cooked garlic she thought it was a piece of meat. We could not get near her for 2 wks because you could smell her from far away. Poor thing but she wanted to beat the other dog to it. Both dogs slept together, but those 2 weeks he did not want to sleep with her.

  4. My doxie ate a whole blick of cheese…not the big ones but one of those special variety small piece from the deli….i brought in groceries and went back for more…could only find the wrapper after maybe 2 minutes..maybe..he didn’t feel well but he still loved cheese

  5. I used to shred the cheese over the floor and let him have the fall offs… he hunted for every piece, even taught him to watch my pointing finger if he missed finding them…lol great fun

  6. One thing that’s missing: CORN COBS. I never knew they were dangerous until my Chihuahua and my daughter’s Pug found some fresh ones in our compost pile recently. Both dogs ate very little of them, but both began vomiting within hours. Big chunks of corn cobs. Thankfully, both are OK, but corn cobs can block their intestines, making them very sick and sometimes even causing death.

  7. I’ll bet you couldn’t spot a flea for 1,000 yards! Lol..
They are naturally curious hunters…might not use their best judgement at all times, but I’m glad she lived to tell the tale!

  8. I’m so glad mydog has a sensitive stomach and can’t have wet or human food, just have to make sure he gets nothing that’s dropped on the floor or left on the plates, as my kids have forgotten how to scrape their plates
