In an act of utmost cruelty, a dog owner tied their pregnant dog to a tree in a forest and left her to die. Miraculously, not only did the dog survive, but she gave birth to her puppies and kept them alive for 10 days while being tied up.
When Lara, a Pit Bull mix, got pregnant, her owner decided they didn’t want to take care of her or her puppies. So they did the most inhumane thing. Instead of finding a new home for her or surrendering her to a shelter, the owner tied her to a tree in a forest near Nafplion, Greece.
By this time, Lara was heavily pregnant, and she was left out in the cold forest, in the middle of nowhere, all alone and tied to a tree. Lara ended up giving birth to four puppies while still being tied up.
She somehow not only survived herself but managed to keep her puppies alive for 10 whole days without food, water or shelter! Talk about a mother fighting to keep her pups alive!
When rescuers finally heard about her through some nearby villagers, they rushed to the spot and immediately took her and her puppies back with them. Sadly, one of the puppies didn’t make it.
But with the love and care of the rescuers, the remaining three puppies and their mama started regaining their health. They’re all doing great now and are just as mischievous and adorable as you’d expect a puppy to be.
We hope the original owner is caught and punished for animal cruelty. We’re glad the rescuers found the dog and her pups before anything worse happened. Here’s hoping the pups find a forever home soon!
