PETA fieldworkers found a neglected dog living in a trailer park, suffering from a massive, infected wound that was caused by a collar that had become embedded in her neck as she’d grown.
Luckily, she was rescued and underwent two emergency surgeries to repair her wounds. While her past was an awful one, it is all behind her now.

Today, she is healthy and happy, and you would never know what she went through by looking at her. And with a new life comes a new name: Crystal!
In the video below, you’ll see the joyful moment when Crystal steps foot in her new home for the first time. Her new doggy sisters welcome her with kisses, and Crystal excitedly explores the first yard she’s ever had. She also enjoys going for a walk with her new family who will love and cherish her forever.

“No dog should ever have to go through what Crystal did,” Robert, Crystal’s new owner, told PETA. “This dog has so much love for our family. It breaks my heart that she almost didn’t have a chance to share it.”

Thankfully, Crystal now has the life she deserves and will finally know what it’s like to live with a roof over her head, have a warm bed to sleep in, doggy friends to play with, and a kind family who loves her unconditionally.
