After wildfire breaks out, man finds family of sheep dogs protecting a deer from predators

An incredible photo surfaced online, among heartbreaking images of destruction from the wildfires out west, of a family of dogs protecting a fawn killed in an Idaho blaze.

The photo, taken by Louis Armstrong of Kamiah, Idaho, showed a family of sheep dogs guarding the dead body of a fawn that had been killed in the devastating wildfire.

Armstrong was reportedly checking on his family’s property when he spotted a neighbor’s dogs protecting the deceased animal.

The sheep dog and its puppies, according to Armstrong, stood guard until dark to protect the fawn from people and predators.

The fires in northern Idaho reportedly destroyed 42 houses in total. Armstrong’s home was spared in the destruction.
