Worried Brother Whimpered, Tried To Revive Puppy After He Was Run Over

Where there are too many stray animals roaming the streets, accidents are bound to happen. Especially with puppies who do not know how to navigate their new world. For one little guy, a car came speeding by suddenly and he was hit. His condition was poor, and the first to be at his side was his adorable, caring sibling.

Rescue group Animal Aid arrived as quickly as they could. The puppy was unconscious and his brother stood beside him desperate to help. An Animal Aid worker quickly assessed the puppy then picked him up, knowing he needed to be rushed in for medical treatment. There was no time to waste!

The homeless animal epidemic isn’t something Animal Aid can truly handle. They do what they can to treat the dogs that need medical intervention. They also bring food and vaccines to the communities but they couldn’t possibly take every dog in, although they wish they could.

The puppy was put in a little basket and taken to the Animal Aid sanctuary. The pup’s condition was poor. He was young, weak, and unresponsive. The rescuers knew he’d need treatment for a brain injury as well as IV pain meds, antibiotics and fluids. They didn’t waste a moment!

The pup needed rest in order to recover. By the second day, he could lift his head but couldn’t eat. He also couldn’t stand just yet or walk. But still, everyone was hopeful.

By the third day, the puppy-warrior ate all by himself! He also stood, with some help, and wagged his little tail. This gesture was proof that the puppy wanted to continue to fight. And he adored his rescuers!

Each day, the puppy improved bit by bit. Animal Aid named him “Dil” and continued to work with him. He needed some help to relearn how to walk. Amazingly, with each “new” step he took, he wagged his tail.

Every volunteer longed to bond with Dil. He was a spirited little guy and full of love. Before long, he made a complete recovery and was ready to go back to his brother.

We are grateful that despite the losing battle with the stray animal epidemic in India, Animal Aid continues to fight for the dogs who need them most. Please, take the time to watch Dil’s incredible story, and pass it along to raise awareness for the amazing rescue group that never gives up!
