Watching This Pug Act Territorial Over HER Pizza Is About To Make Your Day

Pugs love food, and begging can easily get out of hand if family members are in the habit of feeding their dog from the table or offering scraps from plates.

It is important that owners only offer treats (especially “people” food) after the dog performs a specified action, like sitting.

They can also feed the Pug before the rest of the family eats, which makes the dog less likely to beg.

Given Pugs’ short statures and tendency to do cute things, it is important that their owners do not inadvertently encourage undesirable behaviors by laughing or giving in to their Pugs’ demands.

Well, having said that, there are rare instances where the pug becomes overprotective and even becomes territorial over his food.

That's what seems to be happening with Sadie. She's turned into an overprotective pug, who doesn't want anyone to touch HER pizza boxes!!

    No. This is neither cute nor funny. This is an issue the owners need to deal with. Being territorial over food is really common in dogs, you either train it out of them or respect that boundary and don’t go near them if it’s their bowl for example. But a pizza? No, that’s not your food. If it was, put it in the bowl where the boundary is..

    I have a pug.. she did this and it was not tolerated.. it’s asking for punishment down the road.. a pug bite can hurt too.. train your dogs properly.. pugs are cute in many other ways bad behaviors should not be a joke

    My Pug does this with his toys with me, but we are playing and when he nips at me he doesn’t actually bite, he knows we’re playing, doesn’t do it with food, only when we play. And I wouldn’t give my dog pizza anyway, and if something drops and he gets it i can grab it from him with no resistance. Pugs rule
