  1. thank you!!! I see that myth spread ALL the time. they think they’re talking about “hybrid vigor” which is all well and good if you’re mixing species. however, the last time I checked, a dog is a dog no matter the breed.

  2. My Jasmine was a mix from some very nice people in Cocoa FL. He dad was beautiful full blooded Boxer. Her mom was a incredibly smart pit. I wouldn’t have traded my 13 years with her with any expensive full blooded dog…

  3. I’m so glad it’s just not me upset with this idea! Over crowded shelters and Boxers are a perfect breed just the way they are! Makes me sick! I know accidents happen now and then, but to do this intentionally is SO WRONG!

  4. Love my full blooded boxers, but the boxer mixes are cute too.
Unfortunately, this is why dogs in shelters die, bc people thinking that pure needs are the best.
Personally, I love all dogs, so mixed breed or pure bred…it doesn’t matter

  5. Stop crossing boxers with other breeds, they are a unique breed and different from other dogs. If we keep cross breeding dogs, they will all be mongrels, no individual breeds left. Nothing wrong with mongrels, clever dogs.

  6. Wow. I’m sorry you all feel that our dogs are ugly mutts. Our “glorified mutt” is our baby. We got her not because she was a cross with a boxer, but because she came and sat on my husbands feet when the other puppies ran off to play. I agree that Boxers are beautiful dogs, but my mutt, which just happens have a Boxer dad and an Akita mom, is just as special to me as your purebreds.

  7. I paid $75 for mine, paid $100 to have her fixed, $100 for shots (twice, puppy then adult), $100 or more a year for flea/tick meds, hundreds a year for food, toys and treats, then there are her grooming appointments.

  8. Julie Turner-Crawford, I’ll agree that every dog is special, and these babies are not ugly. When a cross breeding happens by accident I don’t have a problem, other than that a responsible owner should ensure that that their dogs don’t have the opportunity to have those types of “accidents”. The real issue is when people cross breed because they “want to see what it looks like” or because they want to try to make money. Breeding should be done to improve the breed and responsible breeders will research the genealogy of both parents to make certain that the offspring will be as healthy as possible.
