Animals do have a unique perception. They are fully aware whenever things aren’t okay. This dog, named “Toto,” found out that he was being given up when he stepped inside the busy Carson Animal Control office, in California, one Friday. In the video, you’ll see the instant Toto, a three-year-old Chihuahua, was given up along with a bit of his food.
Toto can be seen leaping up on his owner’s leg and trying to break free. The look on Toto’s face reveals it all. The main reason Toto was surrendered was because he was being too noisy. Which is, basically, a cheap excuse. There are many ways to handle this situation. You could always train your dog and training is available everywhere…
The Carson Animal Control office was frantic. They were almost full, and Toto had to find a foster home as soon as possible because a dog that is given up by their owner may be put down for any excuse.
Have a look at this video
Toto didn’t find a foster home. Thankfully, however, he got adopted instead! This adorable dog won’t have to worry about being given up again.
Don’t forget to share Toto’s story to all of your friends and family!

That is terrible! Why chastise dog owner for giving up their dog? Many people have to do this for legitimate reasons. Instead of making them feel like$#%&!@* maybe write an article on how to appropriately give up dogs.

I am so tired of this. If you adopt a dog, that is a commitment. If you aren’t sure if you can handle it, don’t adopt until you know. It just isn’t fair to the poor thing.

What a disgusting excuse for a human being. Train your dog properly. Toto obviously only wants to love you. Not that they deserve it.

That is heart breaking. I do not understand why people do this and for such an excuse that is so weak.

Although immediately sad for the little dog, however with their mentality, they don’t deserve his devotion. Toto won’t go un-adopted for long!! 🙂

How did he become a pet owner to begin with. Obviously he doesn’t know how to deal with a pet other than abandoning it.

I AGREE!!! I absolutely HATE seeing these stories! I understand the point if the happy ending. But this is just torture to my heart. I couldn’t read the story either. I will never EVER understand how someone could give up their baby like this. I don’t care what the situation is, I would FIND a solution in order to keep him/her. I’d live on the street in a box if I had to!

We just rescued a pup yesterday. Was a hard decision seeing as we already have aaBeagle we love a lot. But once we made this decision, there is no going back. So far, a lot of feeling out. But I think they will get along just fine. We rescued a Shinba Inu/Shepard mix. Beautiful dog. House training is going to be tougher than our Beagle was. And our Beagle is going to have to transition into knowing she isn’t the only dog in the house anymore.

Article says he was adopted, and sounds hopeful. I certainly hope so – his old people suck, bigly. Yes, Jim, those and a bunch of other infamous SoCal “shelters” really need to just be cleaned out and restaffed with people who actually love animals and will take them No Kill… Then there is the NYCACC system which even its building need to come down (hopefully with their managers inside them), and others across the US (Houston, Memphis.. thousands of others. The encouraging news is that No Kill is expanding every day, building successes, and rolling over PETA, which fights N-K at every turn.
