The Blair Pug Project: A Vet Student’s Hysterical Synopsis of Trimming a Pug’s Nails

Trimming nails on your Pug is not always a fun job. Some pugs are reluctant, even terrified of getting their nails trimmed.

Some even starts screaming, yelping, and moving around constantly. You fight tooth and nails (no pun intended) to get their nails cut… the ultimate challenge of grit and persistence.

Have you ever experienced the pleasure of trimming a pug's (or any reluctant dog's / animal's) nails?

Well, this 2nd year veterinary student, Roberta who's studying at the Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University sure can relate!

  1. Watching a friends pug for a week last month, I didn’t have to trim his nails, but I did wipe his wrinkles daily and had to medicate his ear. Poor guy thought I was torturing him. Luckily a few treats after and he forgot all about it 🙂

  2. Exactly as my Beba reacts!!! She just HATES anyone touching her legs!!! Sometimes I get the nail clipper to cut my nails and she just disappears from my side to the farthest place in our apartment. ..

  3. My pug loves to get her nails trimmed. Her favorite guy holds her while the girl trims her nails. The whole time she is trying to kiss the guy. She also loves going to the vet, a place where everybody pets her . Now, put her in the room with another dog and all of a sudden she’s Cujo. Lol
