Sweet Puppy Drags Her New Blanket Outside To Share It With Cold Homeless Dog

Dogs have long been known for their compassionate nature, but one young little puppy has still managed to wow the world with her incredible act of kindness towards another dog.

Anyone who has ever owned a puppy can tell you just how sweet they can be. Like warm furry balls overflowing with love, snuggles, and endless energy. What’s really amazing to see is when they shower that love not just on their humans, but on other animals as well.

That is exactly what this young black labrador, Lana, did when she saw a strange dog in front of her house who looked like she could use a little love herself.

Lana is still a very young puppy at just 8-months-old, but that doesn’t stop her from showing an understanding and compassion for other beings, human or animal, that is far beyond her age. As it turns out, there’s a reason that the little puppy is so empathetic.

Lana is a rescue dog who was taken in off the streets of Brazil by her new mama, Suelen Schaumloeffel, and her kind fiancé.

The sweet pup no longer has to worry about where her next meal will come from, or finding a warm place to sleep that would keep her safe at night. She had found her forever family, and she will always be well taken care of by her adoring humans.

Things couldn’t get any better for the sweet puppy and yet, Lana still remembers all too clearly what it was like to have to go without as a lonely homeless dog on the streets.

As the Brazilian weather began to take a turn and the air became more frigid Lana’s owner got her a thoughtful gift; a brand new blanket for her doghouse. The blanket was much thicker than the one she had been using all summer, and this new one would keep her nice and warm when she cuddled up for a snooze.

Suelen was happy that her puppy seemed to love her new blanket, so you can imagine how surprised she was to learn that her fiancé saw Lana curled up on the blanket outside next to their fence the next morning, nowhere near her dog house. The real shocker, though, was why she had done it.

The tenderhearted puppy had seen a homeless dog, like she used to be, on the opposite side of the fence and it was cold out. When Lana saw the dog she had went to her doghouse and dragged her brand new blanket clear across the yard and pushed half of it through the fence, so that they could both have something warm to sleep on that night.

Lana’s mom said that she had seen the homeless dog running through their neighborhood the previous day and had tried to approach him to look for an id tag of any kind, but before she could get close enough the scared dog had run off and she couldn’t catch him.

After waking up to find the poor thing curled up on the other half of Lana’s blanket, though, it became apparent that the dog must be homeless or he would have most likely returned to his own house when he had gotten cold.

The sweet little puppy that Lana is, though, saw it as an opportunity to make a new friend and shared her warmth and companionship with the strange dog on the other side of the fence.

After Suelen’s puppy shared her blanket with the dog, the family has seen him here and there but, sadly, he still manages to keep his distance from them so they can’t really help him find his way home. The couple makes sure to leave food and water out for him though, just in case he can’t find a meal elsewhere, and we are sure that on cold nights, Lana manages to slip him some of their favorite blanket.

Suelen couldn’t be more proud of the kind, compassionate puppy that Lana has turned out to be.

“She is the nicest little dog I’ve ever met. We forget sometimes the difference we can make in someone’s life. She reminded me of this,” the doting dog-mom says.

Indeed, we can all benefit from taking a page from Lana’s book and try to make the world a better place to live… even and especially for the stranger.
