Sury the Shih Tzu was abandoned out front of Jasper County Animal Rescue League in Newton, Iowa. When her rescuers looked inside the crate all they could see was a little matted ball of fur. But they discovered it was much worse.
She was covered in cockroach eggs and fleas and had terrible ear and eye infections.

The crate she was in was covered in mouldy dog food.

She was named Sury – short for survivor. They groomed her for five hours to get rid of the disgusting mess.

She’s thought to be 10 years old and is blind. Unfortunately, the animal rescue was unable to lift a license plate number of the vehicle that dumped her. But a reward is being offered for information.

She walks a little bit like a deer right now because she’s not used to walking without the matted fur.

Her seven days hold is up and the little sweetie is now up for adoption. She’s made a remarkable transformation in just one week.
