  1. Gayle Byford from what you have shared, you are a responsible owner/breeder. There will always be ‘greeders’ who only see the cold hard cash, we only have to look the ‘rare’ colours and the effect that has had on some of the litters health and long term effects of inter breeding just for the cosmetics. My point was that the more articles like this are shared, the less likely this beautiful breed, of which I have two, will be exploited and made fashionable for the ‘greeders’ to jump on as the next big thing.

  2. I am a pet owner. Matilda is a pet. As is Burney and Dougie. Its horrible that every time this article, (that has used pictures from people’s Instagram accounts, without permission) rears its head, the Frenchie police come out in droves, not making horrible comments and calling our loved pets “that”. Who cares if they are long haired? They are treasured pets and do not deserve this slating just because theyre different!

  3. Gayle Byford can you not do anything regarding copy right, that is awful. And like you say some uneducated people will jump to the wrong conclusion, I’ve read about the gene that produces this beautiful natural coat before, they are a credit to you. Hoping you don’t get any more aggravation. It’s nothing like you have got from this article, my pied boy is very big for the breed and we get comments. He is over 20kg and has a neck measurement of 20in, always get asked what he is crossed with. Well wishes to you and yours x

  4. Thank you. I am sure your boy is beautiful! I have a brindle boy too who is 19kg! I love them both and wouldnt dream of commenting negatively on anyone else’s pets! Best wishes to you too x

  5. You know nothing about any of these dogs. One of them is actually mine. I’ve had him DNA tested. I didn’t pay ridiculous amounts for him. I actually rehomed him. He is a family pet and very much loved. As are the others mentioned in the article.
I honestly don’t understand why people get so upset every time this article is reposted!
Which by the why has nothing to do with the owners or dogs mentioned. We did not give information or permission

  6. Frenchies are already an exceptionally unhealthy breed and to further breed with other unusual traits to satisfy human need to Own an exotic pet. Animals are no different to children. No human being intentionally breeds for deformities in their children just because aesthetically the child may look cute! The human race makes me sick!
