Can you imagine what it feels like to be homeless, living outdoors in the freezing cold, it starts to snow, and there is no one there to help you? A poor stray dog faced this sad situation on a cold night in Giresun, Turkey. Security footage shows the dog sitting all by herself, likely very cold, and no one around to help.

As security was reviewing footage due to a robbery at a store that night, they came upon something totally unexpected on the video. They saw a kind man walking in the snow. He suddenly approaches the dog and does a beautiful deed.

He bent down, placed food for the dog, and then went even one step further. He took off his very own coat, placed it over the dog, made sure she was warm, and walked away.

The kind man was identified as a municipal worker in the area. Bulent Kalpakcioglu, the good samaritan, told The Dodo, “If I did not give my jacket, it would have eaten at my conscience. While we are sitting warm at home, they are outside in the cold.”
The mayor of the town gave Bulent a special certificate in gratitude.
