Look What we JUST Discovered about Rottweilers!

Devoted, Good-natured, Alert, Steady, Self-assured, Obedient, Calm, Confident, Courageous, Fearless… these are some of the words to describe a typical Rottweiler's temperament.

Because of these characters, the Rottweiler is a popular choice for his ability to protect. As befitting his self-assured nature, he tends to be headstrong and stubborn and is often domineering.

He can be reserved, often wary, toward strangers. He may be overly protective if he perceives that his family is being threatened, and he may also attempt to “herd” children.

This is a powerful breed that needs socialization, consistent training and daily exercise to be the best he can be , a loyal family member and guardian.

The Rottweiler is a medium/large size breed of domestic dog. The dogs were known as “Rottweil butchers' dogs” because they were used to herd livestock and pull carts laden with butchered meat and other products to market.

  1. Aww but what a cute video. Love my rotty praying some day to have another one or two. They are the very best dog in the whole world I think. I have 4 dogs now.. one rott, 3 ankle biters. Hubby likes the ankle biters, I love the rotty best. I can’t say enough good things but I do want to say for anyone reading this thinking about one, they are absolutely correct.. you have to be very firm with them from Day 1. That doesn’t mean beat them into submission it means daily training all the time. When we got her as a puppy I took it seriously we did mini walks every day til she got older then it was longer walks and firm commands as we walked.. best walking dog I have ever had. I”ve had 3 big dogs.. a Boxer Rottweiler, A Akita German Shepherd and now my Rotty. She is the best behaved of all of them.

  2. We had a female we rescued called Molly. She had very bad dental problems. Scars all over her face and a bad rear end. She was the bravest dog and the most gentle dog for are grandkids. The kids would dress her up and play doctor. We still miss her. Rescue You won’t regret it. We rescued 7 plus cats. It was costly but they gave much more than they got.
    Miss you all
