Rescuers Work Tirelessly To Save Dog At Dumping Ground, Then Find Out She Isn’t Alone

We think of dogs as companions. They are our trusty best friends who love us unconditionally and protect us.

Hopefully, most of us will never be faced with a situation where we can see our canine besties pushing the boundaries of their critical thinking. But just because you don’t observe it in action, it’s not to be dismissed. Animals are remarkable and dogs are particularly intuitive.

This story about Iris and Clover shows the depths of a canine’s compassion and loyalty. And make no mistake, the critical thinking in this case is on point with that of a human’s.

Echo Lake Park in Fort Worth, Texas is a stomping ground for shameless dog droppers. It has become known by authorities as a place where people abandon their pets, dumping them like they are some roadside waste.

Recently, a local police officer spotted one of these abandoned dogs, a beautiful German Shepherd. He immediately contacted Judy Obregon, founder of the local animal rescue group, Our Abandoned Ones.

Right away Judy went on the hunt for the German Shepherd. When she found her, she could see she was very afraid. Rescuing this terrified pup was going to be a process but her patience would pay off.

Day after day she left food out and came by multiple times. The last time she came by, the German Shepherd was there waiting for her!

She finally felt like she could trust her enough which was a big win for Judy. But she had no idea what she was about to do.

She ran into the woods and a few minutes later came out side-by-side with her friend, a terrified Pit Bull! Can you even believe it!?

Acting as the protector for her helpless Pit Bull friend, this German Shepherd could have been rescued multiple times. But, she sacrificed EVERYTHING for her unwavering companionship.

Not knowing if Judy would ever come back, she put her critical thinking skills into action by making sure she was safe. As soon as she knew she was, she brought her Pit Bull comrade to safety.

This is a dog I’m talking about here! Absolutely Incredible!

Judy would not be bringing one dog back to the animal rescue shelter that day, she’d be bringing two!

When the dogs knew they were home free they leaped into her truck and took the pivotal ride back to the rescue center where they were seen by a veterinarian.

The Pit Bull was named Iris and the German Shepherd named Clover, a perfect name for her since she was Iris’ lucky charm! Clover was treated for minor wounds, spayed, and had a small cyst removed.

They are both super healthy, loveable and happy dogs– and they are happy together!

Bonded for life, these two beautiful dogs are ready to go into a foster home where they can continue to bond and heal from their traumatic experience. They have learned that not all humans are terrible people and soon they will be ready for a forever home together.

The world can be a very dark and scary place. Clover and Iris had each other in their darkest of times, but they also had each other in their happiest of times.

Rescued by a selfless and compassionate woman, Judy is showing them and other dogs at her center that there is a world of love for them. I am positive these two are heading towards their best life ever.

Thats how I felt because he was no where around during the weeks we began feeding to gain trust .Her being elusive kept her safe from evil ( knowing if anyone else got near ) she would run .but the mission to rescuing her changed , because one turned into two .No way was I going to leave her buddy behind ! With wounds on his face it was urgent , and friendly he would become victim in the hands of evil that lurks this area ! ( photo in comment section) Going in everday , We know it's possible WE may find one in need , never do we have a FOSTER in place …just faith we will find one .we search the woods , the creeks , the lake , the park for possible dumped animals .She is and was another , along with her friend both in need ! While I have several videos from the day we started gaining trust , in some you can see how elusive she was , then just how she began to trust , one video she begins to walk up to me and one she's so happy she starts rolling on her back .I said the same thing to her everday , for her to know my voice and trust that one day her life would change . The look of worry , concern always gets me , and all so rewarding when we can change their frown , the fear they have into a smile ❤We can't do this alone , We need your help , to help us help them .If you can foster please contact www.taoanimalrescue.comthis video is only a glimpse of living life on the streets of danger ..in the woods with no one knowing you even exist but today their life changed !Donations directly to vet would be so greatly appreciated Dr Gibbs : 817-294-9798Thank you to TAO volunteer Emily Walker for her assistance ❤
