Sandy Raymer is distraught and wants justice for her dog. She says her daughter’s boyfriend allegedly repeatedly beat the dog, named Echo, and home video surveillance captured the incident.
“This video shows my dog helpless laying there while this individual hurt him over and over again,” Raymer told WKRG.

Although the footage is incredibly difficult to watch, it allegedly shows 20-year-old Adam Callaghan striking the dog over and over with a broomstick as the dog wails.
Police in Robertsdale, Alabama arrested Callaghan and charged him with animal abuse due to the alleged abuse, which is a misdemeanor charge.

Raymer feels the misdemeanor charge isn’t strong enough and worries similar alleged abuse may have occurred in Callaghan’s past.
“I am begging that people use your voice for them because they can’t. This has to change. What’s on this video is not a misdemeanor offense,” Raymer shared.

Although Robertsdale Police are unable to comment further on the investigation, they are in possession of the video.
