Puppy Wakes Up After Being Euthanized And Gets A Second Chance At Life

Sadly, there are many shelters that become overcrowded and wind up euthanizing un-adopted dogs in their care to make space for new ones.

That was the bleak fate that eight-month-old Lab/American Pit Bull mix Rudolph was given at an Oklahoma shelter, but it seems God had a different plan that day.

Rudolph was euthanized by a veterinarian, but when the vet went back into the room to check on him, he realized that Rudolph was awake.

The vet was shocked to see that the medicine didn’t take, and refused to try it again. From there, Rudolph was taken in by Kings Harvest Pet Rescue, a no-kill shelter in Davenport, Iowa.

The rescue posted his photo and story on their Facebook page to try and find him a home. It didn’t take long before people from all over the country were sending in applications, wanting to adopt Rudolph.

Jacob Hommer, who has bred Siberian Huskies for veterans, took one look at Rudolph’s picture and knew he would be perfect for a veteran he knew in Colorado.

The veteran was so touched by Rudolph’s emotional story and agreed. Hommer drove two and a half hours from Des Moines to the shelter to meet Rudolph.

Rudolph is truly a miracle dog and now he has fortunately gotten a second chance at life!
