Pug Is Being Called A Hero For Saving Family In House Fire

A pug named Jersey is being called a hero because she woke her owners up just in time to save them from a house fire.

When Kim and Tom Zaker decided to sleep in the cool basement last September to escape the heat of the day, they had no clue what was about to happen to their family that night.

A fire tore through the main part of the house above and would have trapped and killed the couple, if not for the brave actions of their little pug, Jersey.

“In my mind Jersey is my hero,” said Tom.

  1. My dog would be my first thought!!!
I don’t have a generator. My surge protector caught fire during a wind storm the neighbors bank porch roof took flight and slammed in the wires between our houses. Had to turn off power at box. All outlets went crazy lights became extremely bright. Kerig died and an old did player. We was lucky my husband was home. Then we found out surge protecters should be replaced every couple years.

  2. Me too. Fire is my biggest fear. Though I have a phobia during lightening storms. One night in the middle of the night lightening struck so close it made my fire alarm go off. My first thought was my dog’s had been hit. I was disoriented from being woken up like that. So now every time we have a bad storm my heart starts beating fast & my nerves are shot while my dogs are cool, calm and collected. Storms don’t phase them.
