Howling is a long and noble tradition for dogs, going all the way back to their distant relative: the wolf.

Wild wolves would howl as a form of GPS, and could locate other members of their pack through long, loud calls.

Though domestic pups of today don't really have a need for these sorts of calls, they'll occasionally revert to their age-old customs and show off some of their impressive vocalizations — especially when they hear a sound that seems to mimic the howls of a wolf pack.

Here's a savvy little pug who is practicing howling and learning how to sound like a big, tough wolf!

    3 or so of our pugs we’ve had 7 over a 30 yr span…do this for their comfort of bedclothes etc! Our pugs are allowed rule of house! They have been trained to use dog door!
    This is Bubba & Dixie 6 months our babies we have now!

    Since this is a pug living page.hope this is ok…my otis has a tumor that has ruptured and has to have surgery tomorrow.he is 10yrs old and my very best friend…I’m asking for prayers for my lil furbaby please….thanks…and sorry if this isn’t allowed

    My boy Ike howls when I come home from work and says I love you when I tell him I love his kisses, I do, I do lol
    His nickname is the Dictator and when he tries to chase cars on our walks he mutters to himself then will bark at anything that moves lol
