  1. Is THIS really what you think beeing a pug who REALLY hates cuttings nails? He’s just a little hard to catch but after that he barely moves….
Mine is quite easier to catch… but it takes almost half an hour, two adults, tons of cuddles and an exorcism to get through the cutting… It’s like trying to make a hug to a fish… That’s what a dog that hate nails cutting do…

  2. He is not happy, but the person who is cutting them has me wondering if he/she really knows what they are doing? A dog that hates nail cutting usually puts up a real fight (even after caught) and screams, not lay there passively

  3. They are usually. I worked at a vet. Many do what we called the “pug climb” where they stand on their back legs while you’re trying to restrain them so they can try to climb away. Pugs can be pretty bad for nail trims but I’ve seen other breeds of dog be WAY worse. Chihuahuas, dachshunds, and oh dear god, BEAGLES!! They act like you’re murdering them if you do ANYTHING to them. I’m thankful I just have to continually offer my dog a “cookie” and talk sweetly to her while I’m trimming her nails. She still tries to pull her feet away from me constantly but she’s never tried to bite and she doesn’t “talk” about it. She’s just squirmy.

  4. It’s a nightmare to clip my pugs nails. They bite squirm and cry. And thats before any actual clipping happens… we take them to the groomers to get done. They take them in the back because last time they made a scene and scared the other dogs…

  5. We dropped our pug at the groomers for a nail cutting, when we came back to pick him up, one foot had been done. They apologized, said it was the first time they couldn’t do the job. He was a biting tornado.

  6. If I tried to cut my pug’s nails myself I would have to do it while she was sleeping! It was like cutting a trip wire, and when she woke up I would have to act like nothing happened. Lol however the moment she realized I was trying to cut her nails she would sense when I was by her….she could be dead asleep snoring and her eyes would just open the moment I walked past…..I miss my babygirl everyday.

  7. mine hated getting his nails cut, screaming and fighting every step of the way, but he would sit and let my husband use the Dremel to grind them down. We didn’t cut anymore after we found this out.
