As with many dogs in the “care” of backyard breeders, Maria the Dachshund was neglected. But worse than that she was shockingly forced to breed when she was paralyzed and unable to use her rear legs! Then, when her owners realized she would need a C-section that would cost $3000, they dumped her.
That’s when Friends Of Emma came to the rescue! The organization saves many special needs pups and Maria was definitely in need of a loving hand. They took her in and soon learned that she was suffering from anemia because of a flea infestation. She was also emotionally traumatized, no doubt from the lack of care she had received. But Friends Of Emma were determined to give her and her babies a fresh, new start.
After having her babies (all seven of which were born healthy!), Maria began a routine of physiotherapy to help her with her paralysis and her back. Just wait until you see her at 2:05! I couldn’t stop crying. The happiness continued on after this video was made and Maria and ALL her puppies have been adopted into wonderful homes!
Watch and share this heartwarming rescue with your family and friends!

The previous owners should be beaten, greedy, selfish pigs. I am so happy she and her babies are all safe in loving homes now

How could these awful money grabbers breed and breed a paralyse dog..That’s how cruel they are.. All this hand bag dog breeding started with the super models carrying them around.. so glad the dog has started to get feelings in his legs back..

Please, stop. Whomever does the posting, this is the same story being posted on your site over and over and over and over and over and over, more times than I care to count in just the past several months. While I understand posting an old story every so often because it is horrifying, please stop this one for at least a year. Yes, I understand that there are always people who have not yet seen it. But, please give the rest of us a break. Post a story that should be read. Then don’t post it again for at least six months. Unfortunately, there are plenty of stories you can post that show human inhumanity. Many of us truly appreciate the mix of stories you post–serious, humorous, interesting, horrifying. Please continue to mix it up. Please continue to bring important stories to our attention. But, stop posting the same horrifying stories every few days/weeks.

Great story, great ending. Doxies are some bad$#%&!@* tough, and strong willed dogs. They were bred to hunt Wolverines, to go down and do a whole, that’s why their front legs collapse and they have such a strong tail, because they won’t come out and you got a pull them out. Had mine for 14 years, she was a tough little$#%&!@* And very loving

Could we please go six months without this story posted again? Yes, it is horrible. Yes, the mom was rescued and I’m grateful. But, please, don’t post it again for several more months. It has been posted every week or two for the last several months. Enough.
