Police Officer Makes Woman Sit In Hot Car After She Left Her Dog In The Car

Police were called when this lady left her dog in a hot car while she went into Walmart.

When she came back out to her car, a cop was waiting and made her sit in the hot car to see how her dog felt!

HuffingtonPost.com reports that this happened after the officer responded to the call about the dog being left in the car in Ohio:

“To prove a point, the officer made the woman sit inside of the warm car with the windows up and without the engine on for a few minutes.

The woman said she was fine but the officer noted she looked uncomfortable. The woman was advised if she did this again she would be cited.”

The article notes that this isn’t the first time that an officer has done this. They say that last year another officer did the same thing to a woman who left her dog in a hot car in New Mexico.

That woman said that what the officer did was “abusive”. It was all caught on camera too.

Do you think it’s fair or is the officer going too far by making these people sit in a hot car after they leave their dogs in a hot car?

  1. Hey I’m glad the policeman did that. Let her feel the way the dog felt when he was left in the hot truck. People are you that stupid really. Don’t not leave your animals or your child in a hot car! Look! Take them with you!!!

  2. If you read it the doors where closed the windows were up and the engine was off which means the cop made her get in the car and stay in the car with all the doors closed and windows up. I’m all for making people pay for breaking laws but sometimes there are things that go a little over board

  3. The Geneva Convention? Really??? “The Geneva Conventions are rules that apply only in times of armed conflict.”

More than likely it went down like this. “Ma’am, I could write you a citation for this, but let me give you another option. How about you stay in your car for 5 minutes with the windows up and no AC. Otherwise, I will happily write you a citation.”

  4. I’m glad the officer did that ,but it needs to be long enough where they are sweating, give them a little taste of what there fur baby went through, then make them work at a animal shelter cleaning poop up,and fine them !

  5. I think that getting a taste of their own medicine is good for them. How many stories do you have to see about children and pets being left in the car before your dumb self understands. They get their kids and pets taken away from them.

  6. good for him. It shouldn’t be regarded as ‘punishment’….simply the same as what the lady did with the dog,,,nothing more……sometimes stupid people need to be taught the lesson since the rules and all the information out there in the media doesn’t seem to be effective enough.

  7. First off I disagree totally about her leaving her dog in the car. But the police have no right doing something like that. If this story is true she just had her constitutional rights violated. And she was stupid to actually do it…

  8. Why are we still talking about punishment for people who leave their dogs in a car let them suffer too that dog should have been fed a wonderful meal with a fan over it and a bowl of ice cubes and looking at the owner through the front window for sn hour or so.
