How can someone claim they love their Shepherd and put them in harms way on a daily basis. I just don’t get it.

Sure knows his job & I hope that when they put him out there for real that he gets a protective vest that is reserved for Officers which is what he’ll be when he grows up fully!

What are you talking about? This is a puupy in training to become a police dog. Someday that dog may save you or someone you love. Ask any cop who has lost his dog while that dog was saving thier life and theywill tell yu that they would rather it had been them and not the dog. Your reply is disrespectful to the cops and thier dogs who are trying to make this a safer world.

It’s what they’re bred to do, and their treatment when they aren’t on duty is amazing. They will do anything for their handlers and their handlers love them like family. It’s not just work, yes there’s a risk, but with the right training and discipline, it’s a partner for life.

Robert Boyd I have 2 and they are just personal pets. No special traning what so ever. I got them for compny and to bark if somene comes to the door. But if me and hubby start kidding around, both of them wi try to get inbetween us to break us apart. My big male will autmatically stand by my husbands side or lay infront of his feet if a strangwr is at the door…with out training . It is instinct for certain breeds. This trait was recognized centeries ago before domistication even. Dogs that have this trait will do it naturally. Now cruelty woud be expecting the samme results from a pug….but even small dogs will naturallyprotect those they love. The sad thing is that our world is full of violence and that our dogs may have to use their instincts to live and protect.

I have four for household protection. They also protect my grandchildren. The do it instinctively. But to take a Shepherd and let him go after an armed Criminal knowing it may get shot or stabbed is beyond me. Fact is I would protect my SHEPHERDs before I would ever let attack anyone with a weapon. Shane Cameron
