A woman from Monroe County, Ohio is being accused of beating her black Labrador puppy to the point the animal lost consciousness.
Witnesses watched in horror as 32-year-old Gabrielle Johnson beat the helpless pup in broad daylight in her home.
Onlookers immediately flooded the Butler County Dog Warden’s office with phone calls to report the assault. People could hear the dog howling in pain before going still and not able to move.

According to the Butler County Sheriff’s Office Facebook page, multiple witnesses, “observed a female, through her glass door, body-slamming and punching a black Labrador puppy.”
“Companion animals are just that, companions. You do not mistreat or abuse them and if you do, you will face a judge. It won’t be tolerated,” Sheriff Richard Jones stated.

The puppy was removed from Johnson’s home, and she was charged with cruelty to a companion animal. As of this writing, the condition of the pup is unknown.
