Miniature Schnauzer Puppy Shows The Stairs Who’s Boss

Upon taking a “small step” onto the surface of the moon in 1969, Neil Armstrong uttered what would become one of history's most famous one-liners.

“That’s one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind.”

Well, in this case, it's one small step for human, one entirely too huge step for dogkind!

At least that's what Chumpie the adorable 7 week old miniature schnauzer puppy was thinking when his mom and dad tried to playfully coerce him down the stairs.

Through persistence, and with the help from his mom and dad, Chumpie doesn't give up and learns to go down stairs for the first time ever!

Watch Chumpie conquer his fear and show the stairs who's boss on the next page!

  1. My little girl’s first incounter with stairs was funny, she couldn’t figure them out. It got really old carrying a wet dog up 6 stairs. I started going up 3 and putting her down, the little brat figured out how to walk DOWN them and would stand at the bottom looking back up at me. LOL, it took her a little while to figure it out. My baby Maxine is gone now, thanks so much for this memory. She was a great little girl.

  2. Why did you do that? Now if I show it to your Papa, then he’ll start beating the drum for a baby Mitty again! :/ Seriously, that reminds me so much of Mitty and me coaxing her into the backseat of the car when I take her to ride. She is supposed to jump into the floor of the backseat, then up onto the seat, then up into her carseat. I spend about 10 minutes now each time saying “come on, girl, you can do it.” There’s a lot of her trying and false jumps but eventually she does it. Poor Mitty’s joints are now old and I think sometimes they hurt – just like mine. However all that puppy’s hesitating moments are sooooo Mitty! 🙂

  3. So cute. Our schnauzer “Frazier” was just about this size when we took him to our house boat. He walked out on the deck, looked down at the water and fell head first into the lake. Started sinking so I had to go in cloths, cellphone and all to save him. Had to go down about 4feet to reach him. He was fine ! But to this day he won’t go near the water. Dearly love my little buddy ❤️
