A little dog with his muzzle taped shut lay in a ditch by a bridge, and a man named Bob found him and immediately set off to the Griffith Animal Hospital in Griffith, Indiana.
When the black electrical tape was cut off, it revealed raw skin underneath which meant it had to have been on there for at least a few days.

The vet examined the little pup for any other injuries and fed him. The poor boy had been through so much in the past few days and possibly even longer than that.
The workers couldn’t hold back the tears as the puppy ate while wagging that little tail.

No one knows who’s responsible for mistreating the dog, but some theorize the pup could have been used as a bait dog and then discarded.
The Griffith Animal Hospital wrote on Facebook: “We try our very best to help every creature that comes our way and we have to acknowledge that someone in our area is that mean, hateful to do something like this to an innocent pup.”

After treatment, Louie went on to make a full recovery. He would find a loving forever home with adopter Mary Connors Witting who ten years to the date walked out of this very hospital after having to have her beloved family dog put down. But now, a new one! 🙂

Louis is living it up in a new life full of love, snuggling, and treats! He now knows what it’s like to be a real dog, and he gets to finally live the life he’s always deserved.

And Louie even got to meet his rescuer! Mary brought the dog back to the hospital to see Bob, and the pup thanked him with lots of kisses.
Bob didn’t even think the dog would remember him, so it was one emotional reunion.
