They Dumped Her Stabbed By Painful Porcupine Quills, Now She Begs To Be Adopted

Bri Burnett of Sweetwater, Texas, was heading home from work when she received an emergency text. A Labrador-mix dog had been found pierced with porcupine quills all over.

Bri took a detour to the dog’s location and caught the most terrifying sight on the deserted roadside.

The dog (later named JoJo) was sitting in a lonely corner shivering in non-stop pain. Bri moved in closer and saw that the dog’s face and head had swelled-up from the infectious, deep-seated porcupine quills. Jojo couldn’t eat or even move her head without screaming in pain.

Bri carefully scooped JoJo and took her to the vet’s. The doctors prepped her up for the hardest part – pulling out of the needle-like quills one at a time.

JoJo was given heavy anesthesia and the quills were removed one by one. After weeks of medication and rehabilitation, JoJo finally started looking like a normal dog again!

Bri hoped that the dog was just lost and had someone looking for her. But the microchip found on JoJo led to an unserviceable number. After much search, no one ever came for her.

Bri started sharing JoJo’s story in hopes of finding a home for her. Let’s help JoJo find a loving forever home!

Update: A woman named Haylee Stewart heard of JoJo’s plight and immediately wanted to give the battered dog a good life. She formally adopted JoJo and brought her home.

Haylee feels that they were meant to be together, and JoJo too is totally in love with her new mom now! We love a happy ending!
