Jax, a 5-month-old Pit Bull puppy, was found stumbling in a disoriented state after being left for dead by dog fighting ring leaders.
The puppy was apparently being used as a bait dog, as he had critical puncture wounds on his face and body.

“Unleashed Pet Rescue” was the first to respond to Jax’s deteriorating plight. The dog’s eyes were swollen shut due to injuries, and he didn’t even look like a puppy due to his puffy face.
The battered dog didn’t seem like he would pull through, so one of his rescuers hatched a unique recovery plan as a last resort.

The rescuer began visiting Jax every night in his recovery room, and showered him with cuddles and kisses. This meaningful gesture was enough to give Jax some much-needed hope.
The wounded boy started looking forward to his kind rescuer’s visits every night, while his wounds healed gradually!

Two weeks into his recovery, Jax had transformed into a face-licking, tail-wagging dog who just wanted to spend time with humans!
He courageously put the scary memories of his abusive past behind him and decided to embrace his second chance at life with a heart filled with love and forgiveness!

Jax is now healing with his foster mother and learning to be a beloved puppy. He looks so handsome now that we had trouble believing he’s the same puppy who was dying just a few weeks ago.
