Mom asks husky a question, but husky proves he’s a total drama queen

At one point, it even sounds like he’s saying, “But I don’t want toooooo, mommy”, in answer to her question about going for a walk.

So, are Siberian Huskies usually couch potatoes? Actually, no.

As stated on the American Kennel Club’s website, Huskies are an active and intelligent breed, so it’s important they get the proper amount of exercise or they just might think up something to do themselves – something that you might not be happy about. It is also important to remember that Huskies should not be exercised outside in the heat. They are sled dogs, used to cold temperatures, so can easily overheat.

A Siberian Husky’s favorite thing to do is run, but it is important to keep him in a fenced area or on a leash. Huskies have a very high prey drive; he really enjoys the chase.

If you’re a jogger or a runner, you can take your Husky with you, but be sure to do so when the temperatures are right for him. Or, if you live in an area with snow, perhaps you can find dog sledding or mushing activities. No snow where you are? Then maybe there are urban or dryland mushing opportunities, using scooters with two wheels for up to two dogs, or three wheels for three dogs or more.

But whatever you do, don’t ask him to get off the couch before he’s ready, unless you want to have an in-depth conversation about why he doesn’t want to.
