Small Pup With A Big Dream Fails Service-Dog Training But Still Becomes A Hero

“Pip” animated short film presented by Southeastern Guide Dogs is heartwarming tale for underdogs everywhere. Pip is the story of a small dog with a big dream—to become a Southeastern Guide Dog. Does she have what it takes?

It all started at the Canine University for Southeastern Guide Dogs, when the adorable little pup, Pip, began her journey to become a service dog for the blind.

But it was much harder than she thought it’d be. All of the odds were against her, since the other pups-in-training there were much bigger than she was.

She constantly failed all of the tests, and the trainers quickly realized that the little pup would not make the best guide dog.

But as time went on, Pip came up with new ways to better herself (like sitting on textbooks to help her reach her desk), and he also started to do a little better with her training skills.

On exam day, Pip was confident, but unfortunately failed the exam again. It was official – she wouldn’t become a guide dog.

Pip walked out of Canine University feeling sadder than ever. She glanced at the Ace statue that stood outside the school one last time.

Then she looked toward the street and saw a blind woman who was about to be in big danger. Without hesitation, Pip ran toward the woman to guide her safely across the street through the construction site.

The trainers and other pups just happened to watch the whole incident unfold and ran outside to greet her. They realized that Pip actually did have what it takes to be a great guide dog.

The exam proctor took the cape off of the Ace statue and put it around the little pup. Well-deserved!

The song playing in the background during the video is “Happier” by Marshmello ft. Bastille.

And it’s very clear that Pip was definitely happier at the end of the video!
