He Waited Under House For 6 Months After His Family Moved & Left Him Behind

Sadly, this call that Hope For Paws received was one they’ve gotten countless times. A family moved away six months prior and had left their two dogs behind to fend for themselves.

The pups were confused and scared, so they sought shelter under the house and survived off food scraps that the neighbors had been feeding them.

One of the two dogs was very friendly, so someone in the neighborhood took him in, leaving his doggy sibling all alone. The dog who was left there, now named Flash, was very afraid and would avoid rescuers.

Hope For Paws rescuers Lisa Arturo and JoAnn Wiltz knew the easiest way to get ahold of him was to set a trap, so they set up a crate with food inside. But this wouldn’t be as easy as they thought. He went to grab the food, but as soon as he felt the crate begin to close behind him, he ran out.

Arturo and Wiltz then blocked the entrance to his hiding spot so he couldn’t escape. Eventually, Arturo was able to snare his foot before he was able to run away. He cried and tried to get away and was visibly distressed, but rescuers quickly calmed him down and showed him that they were there to help.

After a few minutes, he finally realized that these were kind people who were there to rescue him from this misery. He let them pet him and finally felt a sense of relief that his days of being scared and living under a house were now a thing of the past.

Thankfully, Flash was in good health and soon broke out of his shell to reveal his happy, friendly personality. Soon after his rescue, Bark n’ Bitches helped find him a loving furever home!

Sunny Day Acres also worked with him to help him overcome his abandonment issues.

Flash is enjoying his new family and running around in his new backyard. He also loves cuddling with his new humans on the couch and enjoys being spoiled.
