Police dogs, often referred to in North America as “K-9″s (which is a homophone of canine), are dogs that are specifically trained to assist police and other law-enforcement personnel in their work…
…such as searching for drugs and explosives, searching for lost people, looking for crime scene evidence, and protecting their handlers.
The most commonly used breed is the German Shepherd. But don’t underestimate our Boxer Friends!
This A-M-A-Z-I-N-G (and I repeat, AMAZING!!) German Boxer, has made over 500 arrests in less than 4 years as a police dog!!!!!!! MUCH more than most human police in their whole careers.
Watch the video on the next page and be amazed by this Extreme Police! K9 style!

This dog looks slow. I have a AB that would destroy this dog in competition. My last female boxer had twice the vertical leap on this boxer mix

They raise a different breed of Boxer in Germany. The average family doesn’t need this….the American Boxer is just as beautiful, loyal, loving as can be. The best breed ever!
Sarah Osborne
- Edit
They are not a different breed, just different lines of the same breed. My german boy came from the same breeder as the dog in this video. At home, he is just like any other boxer – goofy, playful, cuddly. He is very drivey, though. He’ll be doing agility, lure coursing, and tracking. The German dogs are closer to what the breed was supposed to be – working dogs. Many of them still do just fine as pets, though. I’d prefer to see all working dogs with a job, though. They live much happier lives with a purpose.

If a dog is still “filing out” at 7, it’s just fat. Boxers should be very lean. You should be able to see the last couple of ribs and easily feel the hips under a layer of fat. There should be a nice tuck at the waist.

I have a Bachbett dog, too. He is a typical goofy puppy at home. I flew to WI from VA to get him 6 months ago. He also was not anywhere close to $5k. I don’t know where that person got their info. Different litters are different prices, but my puppy was EXTREMELY reasonable for a dog from health tested, working lines.

I also only expect him to be around 65-70 lbs.

JoAnna Whipps Chapman I’m in Western Pa. I bought my first two via LOTS of phone conversations and my third one I had the opportunity to go visit for a few days. George and Cathy are top notch breeders and dog handlers/trainers. My current pup is the first one that I am training for iPo

Sarah Osborne I did not mean ‘a different breed’ literally. It is just an expression. I have owned & shown Boxers for years & no one could ever convince me that they are anything but the best!

Sarah- your pup is adorable, love his permafrown! It’s definitely a testament of the Bachbett boxers that people will travel across the country for one of their puppies!

I’ve had two boxers in my life time one as a teenager who I took everywhere I went and one as a grown woman, they were both soft loving and obedient ,definatley the best breed of dog to have with children.i loved watching the video of the dog but it’s not how I know boxers to be even though I know they were used as guard dogs during wars .i just love to remember my dogs with there beautiful soft muzzles and big brown eyes.

My last boxer, King was a German. He was definitely one bad dude. But our chihuahua, Roxy rules the house. Now I have a flashy fawn, Diesel, who is much smaller, but is just as strong, also ruled by Roxy, lol.
