A woman from Los Angeles’ Sylmar neighborhood had been noticing a severely matted homeless Poodle for quite some time.
The dog, later named Dolly, had grown distrustful after enduring the sick behavior of many hateful humans all her life.

The woman called “Hope For Paws” and guided them toward Dolly. But poor Dolly instinctively flinched at the sight of the rescuers. She didn’t trust anyone anymore. She thought every human only wanted to hurt her.
Considering Dolly’s skittish nature, the rescuers decided to approach her with gentleness. The dog ran through trash cans and shabby alleys in hopes of escaping the “strangers”, but the rescuers never lost hope.

Finally, one of the rescuers was able to gain the Poodle’s trust. The moment when Dolly let the rescuers pet her is just too overwhelming to watch!

Dolly was already transformed from within when she sat in the rescue car. She was calm and felt safe for the first time in her life.

At the groomer’s table, the rescuers were further heartbroken to see Dolly’s painfully matted fur that was so thick that it tore her skin at places. After removing 10 lbs of dirty fur, the 15lb dog’s gorgeous face finally shone through!

After getting a bath and having a few nurturing meals, Dolly rediscovered her affectionate personality. She was ready to be adopted within a month!

Soon, Dolly found her forever home with a wonderful mom in Cheviot Hills. She has been renamed “Paris”, and spends her time frolicking around with her Poodle sister, Nicky.
