Dog Reunites With The Soldier Who Rescued & Adopted Her In Iraq On Live Television

This is the poignant moment when a soldier is reunited with the dog he rescued and adopted while on duty in Iraq. Thanks to the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA), the dog has been transported through one location to JFK International Airport and then to Tampa, where she will meet her savior. The moment was live on television and their reunion was overwhelming.

Nick Pierzchalski served as a Black Hawk pilot in Iraq for over a year. Nick was a big-hearted guy and always looked out for his comrades. After all, your job as a pilot should also get the other soldiers to safety. But now Nick found time to take care of other defenseless creatures, like stray dogs. The brave pilot also adopted a dog that was only a few months old and cared for it abroad. He and his companions fed Airys, as Nick called the stray dog, his own food.

Later they built him a doghouse and even asked him for dog food. In return, the energetic dog kept the soldiers happy and was a source of happiness for everyone in the camp. “She was part of a pack of dogs and she came running towards us after a crew left the airline,” Nick said. “We all had pets at home. Just to bring us a little piece of home there, it was the world to us. ”

The soldier was quick to love the dog he rescued and decided to bring her to the United States. But he knew it would not be an easy task. Fortunately, with the help of the SPCA, Nick and his beloved furry companion were about to reunite on American soil after nearly a year. “I didn’t think that would happen,” Nick said. “She is part of the family now.”
