Dog Goes Missing Each Day, Owner Sees Him Jumping In Ocean And Discovers His Secret

We're all used to the saying “dog is man's best friend,” but that's not really the case when it comes to this adorable pup from Tory Island, Ireland! Instead of palling around with his human owner, Ben the retriever chooses to spend his days with a different type of mammal.

Now their unique friendship is going viral and it's easy to understand why! Every day, Ben jumps head-first into the chilly ocean water and swims out several hundred feet past the crashing waves!

Then, as if on cue, a head pops out of the water right beside Ben! It's Duggie, Ben's best friend that just so happens to be a dolphin!

Their friendship may seem strange to some, but they don't care – in fact, Ben's owner Pat Doohan told the Irish Independent that Ben and his sea-dwelling friend have the best time when they're together. He said that they'll be out there swimming around and the dolphin will come up behind Ben and get a fix on the direction he is going.

“Then she'll pop up on the other side. It is just wonderful to watch. They seem to be having great sport…. Occasionally a school of dolphins will go by and she will join them. When I see them I think she will forget the island and go back to her wild ways but she never does.”

Every time Ben jumps into the ocean, Duggie's head will appear right by his side. It's clear she's not going anywhere!

It's shocking to see a land loving dog and a water living creature become besties. It's even neater to see the dog paddling alongside the water mammal.
