Small Dog Pants & Cries For Help In Hot Car While Owner Hangs Out In Restaurant

A South Euclid Police Department officer was patrolling a neighborhood, when he heard the distressed cries of a dog coming from one of the cars parked outside a store.

The officer immediately ran to the car, and found a small white dog violently panting inside the hot car and attempting to jump out.

The officer ran the license plate of the vehicle in hopes of locating the owner of the car, but his efforts proved to be futile.

He realized that the dog didn’t have a high chance of survival in the sweltering hot car, so he made a prompt decision to remove the dog through the car window.

The officer observed that the dog was severely dehydrated. He took the poor baby to his patrol car and offered him water, which the dog chugged down desperately.

Later, the dog’s owner, a 62-year-old Cleveland woman, walked out of a nearby restaurant and approached the officer to collect her dog.

The department has updated that the woman has been charged with Cruelty to Animals, and she will be facing the consequences of her irresponsible actions soon.

It’s such a relief that this dog survived thanks to the timely rescue by the officer.

We hope this incident serves as a reminder to all owners who recklessly leave their pets unattended in hot cars.
